Boxing Legend Ricky Hatton Dies at 46, Was Preparing for Dubai Fight

The boxing world is mourning the death of British boxing hero Ricky Hatton, who passed away at the age of 46. The former two-division world champion, who had a professional record of 45 wins and 3 losses, was reportedly preparing for a comeback bout in Dubai this December.

A Champion Remembered

The World Boxing Association and other figures from the sports world, including fellow boxer Amir Khan, paid tribute to Hatton, calling him a “true champion” and a “warrior.” Hatton was a beloved figure who inspired a generation of British boxers. He had a perfect 43-0 record before his first defeat to Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2007, and later lost to Manny Pacquiao in 2009.

Tributes from the Football World

Hatton was a lifelong fan of the Manchester City football club, and the team paid a special tribute to him during their recent match against Manchester United. Manchester City star Phil Foden dedicated the team’s victory to Hatton and his family, saying he had “extra motivation” for the game.
